2021 has had quite a few releases in terms of MMOs – PSO2 New Genesis, Swords of Legends Online, Bless Unleashed, Crowfall, MIR4, New World, with Elyon, Final Fantasy XIV’s Endwalker expansion and Lost Ark all coming in the next few months as well.
Yet many MMO players are avid fans of Anime MMOs, with us eagerly anticipating games like Blue Protocol, Tower of Fantasy and Project BBQ.
But being fans of the Anime genre severely limits the kinds of MMOs available to us. So it is with that knowledge I wanted to bring to you all a selection of Anime MMOs I believe are worth investing time into in 2021, leading into 2022, when we might finally have one of those games to satiate that thirst we have.
These are in no way “the best MMOs” to everyone – so don’t misconstrue the purpose of this video.

Damn blade and soul with the new update looks even more anime lol I couldn't even tell it was bns
Prob the greatest mmo that i had memories in is OSRS. Good community, veteran players were nice to me and helped me through the game & Showed me the ropes of combat in game
playing vindictus and make my characters swimsuit as revealing as possible and turning the colours close their skin colour and that really freaked my friends out when they saw me go into the spa area. it was like my character was actually naked dont know how that was allowed
wait? what? start in 2021? most of this games are old server.
The greatest memory of mine would be playing FLYFF before. I remembered it kept me up for a few days just to grind some levels or waiting for an event that would occur at dawn and having fun at the ARENAS with some friends and it's just pure fun and sleepless nights with my friends.
once i play an epic bossfight on Lineage2 in wich there were 3 aliances with 3 clans each with 80 active players (and there were small random clans that can not enter the raid bc there were no more room on allys, and they died on sight near the big clans) this fight for the boss last 7-8 hours of full screamy psycho pvp ! we used to use teamspeak instead of discord, and let me tell u, leaders and subliders gone insane screaming and sendind sms , negociating momentary truces ,reagruping partys and ambushing clans. that was the most legendary mass pvp i have ever played. we lost the rb but the tale still can be heard on l2 veterans ! long live clan Cofradia !!!
My best mmo memories of a anime mmo was FF XI online with my friends,my cousin & the guild. Adventuring off & hunting for bosses through the nights & the crazy dungeons. There was other games but most of all the mmo's it will always be FF XI for me where no cash shops, & no bs.
My greatest MMORPG memory I have is by far Final Fantasy XI. I start playing it with my best friend back when it release in the west and it was my first MMORPG and my first Final Fantasy game at once. Up till today it made me love both the genre and the game series. What I loved about FFXI was it's huge world and the fact that you had to unlock most jobs through quest lines in the game (besides the 6 start jobs). I remember when I finally unlocked the dragoon and start leveling it. Never felt so satisfied after unlocking something in an MMORPG.
The greatest memory is failing to do all three nier raids on the final raid with my fc. It was glorious, we got through the first two and knew we couldn't make the third but did it anyways. It was the first time our fc master was doing the third raid and they screamed at the jumpscare. And we beat that boss but got kicked out for maintence just as we were finishing up.
The greatest mmorpg memory I have is playing Avabel Online. It's a mobile mmorpg, and the game is currently celebrating its 8th anniversary. I remember after school, I would rush back home to play it in my room. Then every time my mum walked in, I'd pretend to do homework! I loved the Raven class because it had awesome ranged attacks. Now that I'm older, I prefer melee classes. Hmmm, I wonder why that is! Really enjoy your videos and remember stumbling on them from time to time a few years ago. Thank you for your hard work to this day!
It is from a long time ago, but my greatest memory in a MMORPG was on the live servers for City of Heroes before a pure evil company shut it down. I was part of a Super Group called 'The Justicars' for several years and we had so much fun together. Of course that was because I had lots of free time, not because games are better or worse in that time compared to now (*winks to one of your previous videos about opinions*). The community and friendliness of the game was amazing.
I don't need Jesus, I need a MMORPG and a like minded squad. is Jesus going to square up wit da squad, then i need Jesus…if not. You know.
My greatest MMO memory so far is fighting Kefka with a static back in FF 14 Stormblood, progging it and finally hearing that remastered version of dancing mad music for myself was just priceless!
So my story of entering mmo was quiet interesting…. I played fps games for the most time in my childhood and I was introduced to the genre by pso2 when it first released in japan. Yes I played pso2 in the jp servers when it first released and I was hooked on to mmo's since then. I really like both genres fps and mmo and both have their own uniqueness and both contribute equally to the world of gaming.
By the way coming to the mmo I want to play is ffiv but it's quiet expensive… Reeeee…. (>.<)
My best MMORPG memory so far is when I first started playing WoW. It was 2011, not long after Cataclysm launched. Even though I was a new player, I had already achieved officer status in the guild my wife and I were in. As a level 80 Tankadin, I tanked a 25H Ice Crown, the first raid I ever tanked. We completed the entire raid, and downed the Lich King, and for my very first raid in the game, I thought this was really cool. The only MMORPG currently available I would want is FFXIV.
Hitting Pen in BDO
Ugh, I spent several months playing Maple Story last year. I was only playing that long because I joined a very active guild.
so many games are not anime
i played forsaken world for 8-9 years. there were dungeons and in a patch they released a hard mode for them. they community isn't good at all and the community only cared for their own small groups so a lot of people weren't able to beat them. my then g/f and i at the time grinded insanely hard for about a year so we could form our own raid to be able to take it on and i made sure to have a few of my strong friends to help us get it through it. for about 2 years i was able to help a lot of people that weren't in those small circles to get them leveled up so no one was left behind. have been really wanting to get new world to see how the new communities are since i haven't been in the mmorpg scene for a while
My greatest MMORPG memory might not be particularly spectacular or unique, but I will cherish it forever. I had made my first free trial WOW-account and ran into two other newbies on Teldrassil during a group quest, and we spent the next three days doing everything together. Those were great times, one of them is still my best friend to this day!
There would be a game releasing this October and it is Sprite Fantasia which is the successor of the game Grand Fantasia. The character designs were now comparable to Aura Kingdom( same developers). 😀
The bridge to Stormblood when Paplyomo sacrificed himself was the best and saddest moment in a mmo for me id like to get ffxiv endgame
*endwalker was watching Avengers
I hope Blue Protocol can cross server play.
wasted so much money on Elsword. Havent played it since the release of that red raid whatever its called
Just FYI atleast if irrc, you can't play Dragon Nest NA without a VPN unless you're within the US
My best mmorpg memory was playing ragnarok online on weekends with friends and literally playing it for 12 hours killing the same mob for card drops and selling them for real money to buy a ton of food to fuel our farming sessions
Bro you played Tales of Pirates? Wow I played that for a couple of years too before. What server were you? Haha
My fondest mmo memory was the first time i tried to go grind for exp/silver at Sausans in Black Desert Online. There was a gigantic open world pvp brawl going on and i got absolutely dumpstered by everyone there. It left me with the desire to become strong and one day return and clap them. Thinking back it made me feel like i was part of an actual world and the world was a big scary place.
doing kerning pq in maplestory over and over again
The greatest mmo memory was when i started playing SWTOR, which was my first even mmo.
The most memorable was the first time logging into Asheron's Call and entering the game through a wormhole. The second was me and two other players we were in a choke point in OHN (Othoi Hordes Nest) and the bugs kept coming at us, we were backed into a corner killing just as fast as we could it seemed to go on for hours we were out of potions and going down but we fought and fought till one fell, then I dropped and the last guy went down. We died gloriously with the bodies of thousands of bugs around us. We were strangers at the start and by the end we were friends who stood our ground no matter what even on to death. We are still in contact via email though AC has been gone for years now and we all quit long before that. But to this day I still remember putting on Grim Reaper and blasting Fight for the Last https://youtu.be/nfnjS0bX9TM about at the midpoint of the battle cause I knew then that there was no way we were getting out of there alive. Sure one of us could have escaped with a recall spell but we decided we were in it together so we were going to die together. There was hope that some guildies were going to get to us but OHN was at full spawn, we were in really deep and it was pretty late at night. God it was glorious, this was when OHN was all one big dungeon and hadn't been broken up via portals to be more manageable. The choke point we were at was the location of MANY wipes.
Ragnarok online is the biggest nostalgia MMO for me. I've always enjoying coming home and doing pvp or boss hunt with my classmates. Those were the good times…
I gotta say, I genuinely feel like I missed out on the mmo genre. Allods was the only game I have fond memories of, but even they are quite limited to playing solo. Being a part of a living and breathing community sounds like just what I need, but I can't afford a subscription to jump on the ff14 train. I might look into Lord of the Rings Online since they are giving a load of content for a discounted price
The greatest mmo memory is UO. It's a OG!
I just know my gf from there asda global 😆
Why do you keep repeating that Tree of savior doesnt have active playerbase in every video? I mean at the moment game shows 1400 players online in steam while your favorite super popular PSO2NG shows 1800 lol. Its like every game in the video has small online but yet again you repeated that noone plays tree of savior. Soulworker online count is 1000 and so on
I got two,
Getting lost in wildstar literally i couldnt figure out what to do and just exploring, this was when the game was literally two days out and noone had posted a whole lot yet.
and two I ended up getting to know a girl in Mabinogi and we played non stop for weeks.
I’m a newbie to mmo games but the first contact I had with them was when pso2 came to the west. I was super excited to try it out. It became my favorite mmo thanks to the fast paced combat, unique classes (✨luster✨), and fashion system. Not only that but I met a lot of people in game and joined a guild I still am part of. In the midst of the pandemic they became friends of mine and I would always be looking forward to logging in and playing with them. I think it’s thanks to the community I am such a fan of base pso2.
Ik I didn’t specify anything but honestly it’s just every moment I spend with them which is memorable and precious to me. From the time I learned Jesus spelled backwards was susej to the time we simped over Phaleg and her killer thighs. It’s super cheesy and I love every second of it XD
Will be there in future any game close to tera online system of combat which is not P2W and have a decent player base ;D?
My best MMORPG memory was when they asked me if I was a man or a woman because i play a female miqote on FF14 and why I had the name Minerva, so I explained that Minerva is my wife's name and I use it in all my games
What game did the character in the thumbnail come from?
my greatest MMORPG memory that i can remember is creating my char in FFXIV … i realy enjoyed my time making my char
If I win I would love a sub to FFXIV!
My favorite mmo memory is just simply chatting with a jagex mod back in RuneScape around '08 I felt like I was talking to a Greek god 🤯
