Elyon is a free to play open world MMORPG on PC that combines steam punk and high fantasy themes together with a fairly decent action combat system, multiple ways to build out your character and a solid mix of both PVP and PVE content with a splash of casual content such as mini games and player housing.
Elyon has gone through development hell, It started development sometime between 2012 and 2014 and fully released on Steam on 20th October 2021, probably the worst time to release an MMORPG considering New World had just released and after people got bored of that Lost Ark was right around the corner.
I must admit due to other MMO releases I didn’t have time to cover Elyon’s release and I actualy forgot about the game entirely, so in this video we’re gonna jump back in and see how the game’s doing 6 months since the western launch.

Looks like an instant gratification, give you everything quick game. MMO's aren't meant to be like this.
Honestly, to me, the game doesn't look like it has anything special that makes it apart from the other MMOs. Looks generic, seems to play generic and monetization is really bad. It simply has the vibe of all the other F2P MMOs I tried when I was a teenager.

Pros: nice mechanics/ skills/ ok combo. Const: bad graphics, world looks like a cheap copy paste of Tera and the enchant rates values are fake…meaning if you see 75% actualy is less then 30%. That made me quit Elyon. So many including me faild lime 50 times in a row with 75 % + rate. is not anymore RNG. Is fake values on screen.

There is a game from 2001 called Regnum online. That game is pvp focused and still alive to this day! It has a pretty cool pvp system that is actually fun to play. It's been years since i last played, but i checked it out recently and it's still fking alive. WoW will probably die before this game does. It's not even made to run in win10, but i tried and it works well.
I couldn't remember why I stopped playing this game and then it hit me. The forced PVP later on and getting 1 shot by other people who raced through. There was also a technical issue where you would come out of the dungeon with the dragon and you'd get a debuff where any amount of damage would stun-lock you; the only way to clear it was to re-log. I tried to like it, but the forced PVP made it hard to like. Mind you, I only gave it a week or so.
Elyon isn't a bad game but it isn't a good one either, it's mediocre. Mediocrity makes it forgettable and most players have forgotten about it.
If you want to try something genuinely different try broken ranks.
Why is it so hard for YouTubers to understand that concurrent players != total amount of players. You can drop 90% concurrent players without droping a single active player. At the beginning everyone is nolifing 16 hours a day to maybe 1-2 hour a day after 6 months. That would drop average concurrent numbers by 90% or more whilst keeping the same number of daily actives. Not to mention casual people who maybe don't play every single day and what not.

It failed because it is simply not a high quality game. Even if black desert, new world, and lost ark never existed, this game would be a failure. The engine is outdated and it affects more than just the graphics. It would be like using UE4 today. Like why shoot yourself in the foot?
P2W trash that's why no one plays it…only the mobile crowd wants PVP games with P2W in them, don't know why they even bothered to release in the west.
Even TERA, the game it was supposed to replace has better combat… UE3 Kills yet another MMO.

combat is actually fun imo AND it has a great character customizer. the things that suck though: you cant transmog/glamour armor you level up with. the questing is horrendous. the graphics are extremely outdated. there is a lot of particles in fights so very low gameplay clarity in pvp. i felt no attachment to the world or the lore. i have to make an alt if i want to play a different class. too much linear progression.

OSRS has been fun lately with all the updates. Loot keys + PJ timer, RC minigame, new pvp arena and raids coming.
Honestly, a huge disappointment. Specially for Tera online old players like me. We were in huge hype, since Bluehole announced it. The fact that it could be a Tera 2.0 version, it could be better for sure. But like you said, they did huge mistakes, with graphic, with monsters design, monsters locations etc. Plus i remember, i played it one week after realase and stopped because it was burning my eyes so much. I never played a game that gives me so much problems and burn my eyes out after 1h of game…and i could acept an engine 3 graphic but not if it creates problems to my eyes, it is obviously bad optimized..it was like playing on an old Gameboy Color!! Really sad about the outcome. I really hope they will consider a remastering or a shutdown and an improvment and open it again in future.
It always saddens me when I see a dead mmo. Just imagine all of the stories that mmos like Wildstar could give us.
10 to 15 years ago this game would have been great. But now it's trying to compete with competent and sometimes fun modern mmos, and it just doesn't have anything to compete with. I imagine that Black Desert is its biggest competitor, and frankly, Black Desert sucks if you don't have a life to commit to it. That Elyon is a significantly worse option is just the nails in its coffin.
If I had to guess. Elden Rings existence is gonna kill a lot of these games.

you should try 'demon god' on mobile haha. its so toxic man, i tried it and people as old as 30 probably play it and probably minors who are playing with wallets. the money demand is unbelievable.
reminds me alot of league of legends ( except with no sketchy backup ) but it is still pretty sketchy.

As someone who only play Korean OW-PVP MMORPGs for the past 18 years now since Lineage II back in 2004 I know perfectly well how a game needs to be to be fun, immersive, interesting & to have longevity, I have so many amazing ideas in my head these devs need to hire me to supervise the development process & give my guidance to them because it's sad to watch them waste millions & millions of $$$ working for a decade on a single game & in the end achieve nothing & the game they made dying in the first months, if only I had the money to create my own dream game if only…

Found the game so boring after 45 mins of it being on autopilot against my will.
300 players max nowadays, not worth at all
played this game for 500hours+ on release – game failed massively on the first few weeks due to those server issues / high ping spikes / global lags. Combat is fun, pvp is super fun, rest is dumb as hell. Upgrading gear – Worst thing i've ever encountered – You farm 3 weeks for gear that can break. People literally hit higher gear within 1 week due to high luck, while people that grind 24/7 for multiple weeks and get 'nothing'. Dungeons also quite boring and no contest before tier4 – ALL bossmechanics can be skipped. Boring dailys and huge cashgrab – you literally have to pay 100€+ (with rng involved) to get a reliant LOOTPET. Scammy as fk.
I remember first day 7 patch was a nerf to a how many fairy things you could obtain per week and then putting them in cash shop. 7 day p2w patch was yikes for me
