BDO isn’t strictly pay to win as it’s based on RNG, So the person who pays the lost isn’t necessary the strongest.
this game is more pay to progress. if you think BDO isn’t p2w (as most people who have played bdo for awhile) then you’ll be fine with this game

Can somebody just release a game as cool as this in terms of combat etc, but with the p2p model of ff14 with just pay for cosmetics? Like come on its not a hard equation to figure out

this is a big controversial topic. Just stop worrying about this and play the game, that's what I did with BDO and I am already full pen armor and weapons within 1 year. All of my swipes were for cosmetics, mainly the outfits I liked. 9:00 Speaks gold, as long as you can get that item in the game within a reasonable amount of time, no issues here. This game was not designed to be beaten in 1 month, if that was the case no one would play it.
Look, I watch BDOBloo a lot, and I directly asked him on stream why he stopped playing Elyon. He literally said the pressure to swipe by his friends was getting to be too much. The progress you can make is large enough and cheap enough that a lot more people do it in Elyon (ONLY $100 for good gains?!) VS BDO for example, where you have to spend in the tens of thousands to make any gains that will put you ahead of a lot of players. This affected BDOBloo enough that he started just playing BDO again. I'm ok with a game that allows a player to pay and progress faster in stats and gear, but if it can progress you by a large amount for an affordable cost, then a larger amount of the community will do it, and it will severely affect your non-p2w player. Neverwinter is the best example of this p2w model and does the same thing Elyon does, go look it up. You can p2W in BDO to make good gains and surpass other players, but at least they make it cost a fortune to do so…in Elyon you don't have to be a whale…you just gotta have a job.
i didnt understand that logic on asian cultures swiping to progress part. who the fck said having job means we want to swipe our cards instead of playing the game normally? thats such a corporate thing to say.
i dont mind devs getting some side action for services with cosmetics or non gameplay influencing stuff or just keep subscription if u think u cant handle server costs just from cosmetics.
just catering to few whales in a mmorpg games will just kill the game for sure.. asian or not.

Hard pass for me. Feels exactly like lineage2, it now starts with just the one item where you can spend $1000 to get the perfect stats. Then a few month later there's another item introduced which u will want and get perfect stats for aswell. To a point where if u dont get either of those P2W items you're just so much behind vs someone who does. I appreciate all the time/info to inform us <3
