Removing Gameplay To Sell You Currency – MMORPG Genre – Elyon

Elyon has just made the game even more infuriating than it already was. I’m absolutely sick of this terrible trend of removing social elements that have been key to the MMORPG genre under the guise of combating players selling currency, when the developers removing said feature are just selling currency themselves. It’s absolutely pathetic and needs to stop.

  1. Without trading, mmos nowadays don't last as long as mmos back then, unless a bunch of whales keep throwing their money on it. Trading were the essence of mmos, as they were generous people and scammers alike. Gotta miss those old days.

  2. He there, you should do a video about the old Neocron game ^^
It is free to play, has no microtransactions or monetization. But it is maybe too old. Maybe you like it, maybe not.

  3. This set pricing thing is what killed BDO for me (along with the horribly balanced pvp and constantly making older classes useless in leu of the latest bigg titty airhead with a sword) there are a ton of items that are super easy for higher geared players to get, and yet they can't then turn around and give or sell them to other people because the market makes them sell it for billions of gold, wich only other higher geared players can afford. so its jsut a bunch of rich people selling things to other rich peoples alts and the lower geared or new players are shut out of the market entirely. taking away the ability for the community to set the pricing of items themselves stagnates the market. you'll have gear from 50 patches ago still costing the same as it did when it was relevant, so the newer gear will have to cost more and more and more and eventually you're at an absolutely ridiculous price that nobody but someone who already has better can afford.

  4. At this point it feels like the industry is so gripped, that I honestly think it's going to take a new generation to even hope to fix it.
I've been doin heavy work in Blender and Unreal. Hoping to find myself as a fulltime artist or animator at some point. But it's a DREAM to be on a team, that echoes old Bungie, or BioWare.
    Would be so dope!
    Cheers, bud.

  5. Ive never known a Dev to try and stop RMT only ban those who do it.

Its simple when the RMT re-buys the game to start selling again the dev makes more money back once again, plus the sub if its that type.

Free to play dont bother as the devs themselfs just add RMT.

Sad state of the gaming world.

  6. That's usually how I give items to people on PSO2 seeing as to trade you need both people to have premium.
Couldn't imagine putting some stupid limit on how low or high you can sell shit just because of RMT. How about combat RMT and not screw up with your player shops?

  7. With all the people that complain about cash shops I don’t understand why they play these games when there are alternatives with no cash shops.

Probably the complainers should STFU since they still play these games despite the cash shops.

  8. Elyon's combat looks nice but i'll wait at least till they show what they're really about with the in-game shop etc.
Could you make a video about the recent SOLO launch?

  9. If BDO had player trading from very start. Wow… I don"t even know. (Holding up emotions) BDO would be dead long time ago. Why grind for freaking months.. Years. When you can just buy stuff from players directly(for real money that is). Then go hang out on some top grind spots. After that apply for a top siege clan. Get your ass kicked and done. I played a lot of RU server back in a day. They had biggest rmt scheme of all bdo history. Some people was able to obtain thousands of tet and pen Black Star weapons. For any class. You know what happened next….
This game is ofc not even close to bdo from a quality stand point but people are driven by fomo and emotions all the time. You know exactly what im talking about.

  10. It's refreshing to see someone talk about the MMO genre/industry with a real love for these types of games. So many "fans" blindly swallow everything shat at them by developers and it's infuriating. There's so much potential for MMOs to be amazing games, but just about every dev is so focused on monetization that they destroy any chance at their game being actually fun, compelling, and something a lot of people will want to play for many years. Watching my fellow gamers defend shitty practices and rampant greed that hurts the game I want to enjoy is just maddening – love your vids!

  11. Weirdly I think not trading is good for mmos, I know o sound like I am on elyons side, but I also don't support trading real money stuff in games, maybe outfits is fine, just like aesthetics for people who wanna play f2p

  12. What is the point of playing a Visually appealing game, when literally everything else about the game is shit?

We all know what happens to these kind of Korean Games, it won't change unless their entire Culture changes.

There is only one Asian game that is good and that is: Final Fantasy XIV.

Because they actually care about their players.

  13. It will be the death of that game if the new player experience is also garbage. They’ll fail to keep players who want to go in and find buddies or play with existing friends if they have to solo grind or pull out their wallet to play with everyone else in the group.

  14. I liked when mmos let you be free to do what you want.
Too many mmos are trying to herd players into playing in a very specific way and it reduces the amount of fun in the game.

  15. Being unable to trade items with other players eliminates half the purpose of having a guild. I like to gather resources and share with the guild as a form of contribution.

  16. Im curious what the fix could be. If the games make it so you need currency, gems, special items, etc. to upgrade gear then there will be RMT. The question is, how do you allow trading between players without making RMT possible? The RMT problem is massive with alot of games that allow trading. Preventing players from trading makes it almost impossible to sell your items to others which limits the RMT so I can see why they do that. I just dont see a fix that doesnt break the MMO aspect of the game.

  17. Yeah if its from the Black Desert company I am sure it will be the same as that game. Which does suck if you have been playing and you get some friends to join that you can not help out.
